Kenya region arrive at the lodge in time for lunch then enjoy the facilities and activities at the lodge, explore the Mount Kenya National Park or take an optional tracking guided tour evening enjoy watching different animals as they come to lick salt and quench thirst at the pool. An open-air deck gazes down to a water hole bustling with elephant and buffalo herds. Inside, log-panelled walls and timbered game-viewing decks welcome you to the surrounding natural beauty. The light and vast openness creates a lonesome panoramic beauty and the permanent water supply acts like a lure for the abundant species found here. The region is home to the uncommon Grevy's zebra with huge fury ears, gerenuk antelope standing on hind legs to feed, Somali ostriches with distinct blue legs and the shy Oryx. The aim – to provide lifelong refuge to orphaned and abused chimpanzees from West and Central Africa. Over the last decade, Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary has been compelled to keep accepting chimpanzees rescued from traumatic situations - bringing the total number of chimpanzees in the Sanctuary to 35. Many are confiscated from cramped and unnatural living conditions, and many arrive with horrific injuries sustained from abuse at the hands of humans. At Sweetwaters, they get a chance to start over.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru National Park
